How to Apply
Fill out our Adult Volunteer Application today.
The application can be mailed, faxed, emailed, scanned, or hand delivered to the hospital Information Desk. Once the application is received, the background check is submitted to the Human Resources Department.
When the background check clearance is returned, the applicant will be contacted to come to the hospital for a volunteer interview. Applicant must also complete a P.P.D. test, a titer, and a flu shot. A P.P.D is the skin test that is conducted to determine whether or not a person has been exposed to TB. A titer shows if a person has immunity to certain diseases. If it is determined that a person does not have immunity to a certain disease, then he/she may receive the vaccine from Employee Health.
The test are available free of charge in Employee Health from 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
(NOTE: applicant must be able to return to the hospital 48 – 72 hours after the P.P.D. test to have it read).
When we receive the permission form from Employee Health the applicant will be contacted to start volunteer training. Volunteers must wear a volunteer smock. The smock is $25.00 and refundable after 3 months of volunteer service. The smock must also be returned in good condition with the identification badge.
