Breast cancer continues to be the most common cancer for women. Yet with early detection and access to a full range of treatments and support resources, outcomes for women can be very good.

We are delighted to announce that MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center is now a site of the MedStar Regional Breast Health Program that will be led by breast surgical oncologist Ekaterini Tsiapali, MD, FACS.

Dr. Tsiapali specializes in breast conserving surgery and has a specific interest in fertility preservation in younger breast cancer patients and high-risk patient assessments. “I’m excited to bring my experience to the community and offer patients high-quality care close to home,” says Dr. Tsiapali. “Women can expect all the services of an academic hospital here in Clinton.”

Before joining MedStar, Dr. Tsiapali spent seven years at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, serving as a breast surgical oncologist and clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery. After earning her medical degree from the National University of Athens Medical School, she completed residency training at East Tennessee State University as well as a Breast surgical Oncology Fellowship at Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island/ Brown University.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Tsiapali to MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center!
